Privacy and cookies.

What happens to the details you send me, in plain English. In short: I only see what you choose to send, I use it to reply to you, and this site sets no cookies.

Who's responsible

I'm Nathaniel Wynter, a personal trainer in Reading, Berkshire, and I run this site as Wynter Fitness. I decide how the details you send me are used, so the law makes me responsible for them (it calls me the "controller").

What I collect, and why

The enquiry form. Your name, an email address or phone number, and what you tell me you're after. I use them to reply to you and, if we go ahead, to plan your training. The email the form sends me also shows when you sent it and from which page.

Health details. You don't need to share any in the form. If you mention an injury or a health condition, I only use it to reply to you and to plan training that's safe for you.

Messages and calls. If you email, call or message me on Instagram instead, I use what you send in the same way. Instagram messages are also covered by Instagram's own privacy policy.

The quiz. It doesn't ask for your name or email. Your answers stay in your browser and are never sent to me (see Cookies and storage, below).

Visiting the site. Like any website, the company that hosts it sees your device's internet (IP) address and browser details, to send you the pages and keep the site secure. I don't use them to identify or follow you.

I never sell your details, and I won't add you to a mailing list without asking.

Why I'm allowed to

Data protection law (the UK GDPR) needs a lawful reason for each use of your details. Mine are:

  • Replying to you, and training you if we go ahead: you've asked me to, so it's a step towards an agreement between us (the law calls this "contract").
  • Health details you choose to share: your explicit consent. You can take it back at any time by asking me to delete them.
  • Keeping the site working and secure: my legitimate interest in a website that runs properly and isn't misused.

Who else handles it

A few companies do jobs for me. They only use your details to do those jobs, on my instructions.

  • Cloudflare hosts the site and runs the enquiry form.
  • Resend turns your enquiry into an email and sends it to me.

Cloudflare and Resend are based in the United States, so your details may be handled outside the UK. When they are, they're protected by the safeguards UK law requires for that.

How long I keep it

Your quiz answers are cleared when you close the tab. You can ask me to delete your details at any time.

Your rights

You can ask me to:

  • tell you what I hold about you, and give you a copy
  • correct anything that's wrong
  • delete it
  • stop using it, or use it only in limited ways
  • give it to you, or to someone else, in a common format

Email wynterfitness1@googlemail.com to ask. It's free, and I'll reply within a month. I may need to check it's really you first.

If you're unhappy

Tell me first, and I'll try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Cookies and storage

This site sets no cookies. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking tools on it, and its fonts come from the site itself, not from Google. That's why there's no cookie banner to click through.

The quiz keeps your answers in your browser's session storage (a small note on your device, not a cookie), only to show you your result. Nothing in it is sent to me, and your browser clears it when you close the tab.

Instagram is only linked to, not built into the page, so it learns nothing from your visit here unless you follow a link to it.

Changes to this page

If anything changes, for example if I start an email list, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
